Each year we invite a group of young American artists (ages 16 - 24) to travel to Kigali, Rwanda in a skills-share program. This program is highly selective and is by application only. We are looking for young people with an interest in developing leadership skills, community building, and global justice. These youth will take up a 2-week residency at our studio (GMC Pro) where they will be responsible for both teaching and learning new skills with our Rwandan youth.
We hope to soon be able to sponsor Rwandan youth to travel to New York City to complete a 1-2 month internship in a creative field of their choice. We hope to partner with local organizations in New York City to provide these invaluable learning opportunities. If you or your organization would like to host an Rwandan intern, please contact us! We would love to work with you to make a young artist’s dream come true.
Youth who participate in our exchange program will learn to think of themselves as cultural producers with a unique and invaluable voice. Our traveling artists gain the perspective and sense of self necessary to take on the responsibilities and challenges of living in a changing, interdependent global community.
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SUMMER 2019.
